Office Closed due to Hurricane Helene

IWA’s main office will be closed on Thursday, September 26th, due to inclement weather conditions caused by Hurricane Helene. Our office will resume normal business hours on Friday, September 27th. Thank you for your patience.

IWA encourages you to turn off irrigation systems in advance of Tropical Storm Helene. Water treatment operations will be limited during the storm, and irrigation systems left in operation can quickly deplete stored water. Expected rainfall is between 4 and 7 inches on Sanibel and Captiva, making irrigation an unnecessary waste of natural resources and money.

Your assistance in protecting our treated water supply is appreciated.

Irrigation Conservation Needed During Critical RO Plant Repair Project

IWA is completing critical repairs on the Reverse Osmosis treatment facility which will reduce water production capacity during the months of September & October. IWA asks members to conserve water by ensuring irrigation systems are programmed in accordance with the City of Sanibel and Lee County’s Year-Round Irrigation Restrictions. The Year-Round Irrigation schedule allows for two-days of landscape irrigation per week between the hours of 9 PM – 5 AM. Allowed irrigation days are based on a property’s address as listed below. IWA appreciates your assistance to reduce peak water demands during this necessary construction project.

Precautionary Boil Water Advisory Information

On September 25th, IWA has place all of Woodring Road on a precautionary boil water notice. This notice should clear by 4:00 PM on September 28th.

Current Irrigation Restrictions

IWA & Coastal Watch have developed a Conservation Plan. Please visit our water conservation page or click the chart below for more information.
